Ted Warren graduated from Harvard University and then studied Anthroposophy and Waldorf education at the Goetheanum. He taught for more than twenty years at the Oslo Steiner School in Norway and served as a class teacher at the Princeton Waldorf School in New Jersey. He has long been active in Waldorf teacher education and has taught courses at the World Teachers’ Conference at the Goetheanum. He has taught at Spring Valley Academy since 2010.
As early as 2003, Ted Warren and Lin Yuan explored how to develop a locally grounded Chinese Waldorf curriculum at the Princeton Waldorf School. They collected and translated Steiner’s discussions of Eastern civilization and Chinese culture from German sources and studied Steiner’s eighty-two teaching methods to help Chinese teachers design their own curricula. Fluent in English and German, Warren has more than twenty years of experience as a Waldorf class teacher and English teacher. He has devoted particular attention to Anthroposophical discussions of China and the East and is recognized in Europe and North America for his work in Waldorf history teaching and English as a second language. A founding contributor to Spring Valley Academy, he has taught the Light and Dao course in China since 2010.
